Robin Strode Downing

Robin Strode Downing, speech-language pathologist, earned her masters degree in speech-language pathology from the University of Kentucky. She is certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and is licensed in Kentucky and has been practicing for more than 40 years. She served as a Clinical Instructor and as adjunct faculty at the University of Kentucky. She also served as coordinator of a joint program with UK’s Communication Disorders department to implement an innovative program enabling nonverbal school children with severe special needs to access the school curriculum. She was the recipient of the Johanna B. Hancock Award, Honors of the Kentucky Speech-Language-Hearing Association, and the Clinical Achievement Award given by the Kentucky Speech-Language and Hearing Association (KSHA). She was inducted into the Alumni Hall of Fame for Speech Pathologists at UK.  She is the co-author, with Catherine Chamberlain, of seven publications, some of which are national best sellers including Easy Does It for Apraxia:  Preschool.  She and Catherine have presented over 50 seminars and workshops throughout the United States and Nova Scotia..She is certified in the Orton-Gillingham reading program for children and adolescents with dyslexia.
